With the late, great Hungarian pianist Géza Anda – husband of Hortense Anda-Bührle and father of Chairman Gratian Anda – IHAG Privatbank and its founding family have a close personal association with music. The Bank maintains this relationship as a regular sponsor of musical events. The Géza Anda Foundation, established in 1978 in honour of the pianist, is a particular focus of these activities.
The objective of the Géza Anda Foundation is to support young pianists in the musical spirit of Géza Anda. It does this by holding the Concours Géza Anda every three years. In addition to cash prizes totalling CHF 60,000, the winners have the opportunity to give many solo concerts in centres of music around the world, as well as free concert management services for three years.
